Where Can I Buy Skinny Coconut Oil

To test the benefits of coconut oil, a few of us on the Simplemost team used a variety of Skinny & Co Coconut oil products, which are all made with cold-pressed extra-virgin coconut oil, without any chemicals, and with five or fewer ingredients. The company uses a patented system to cold-press their coconut oil, which leaves all of the raw nutrients intact and results in oil that allows the body to absorb the oil much easier, enhancing its effectiveness.

Skinny & Co. is a cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny-certified company that prides ourselves in our utilization of innovative, wild harvested, single origin coconut oil. Our patented Nutralock System crafts the coconut oil under 97 degrees F, which leaves all of the raw nutrients intact. This process results in coconut oil with higher levels of medium chain fatty acids and allows the body to absorb the oil much easier, enhancing its effectiveness.

One question we often get is: "What's the best oil for oil pulling?" We already know that coconut oil is the best oil for oil pulling because it's the only non-acidic, alkaline oil and that Skinny Coconut Oil is the best brand of coconut oil, but when they combined it with peppermint oil, it makes the best oil pulling coconut oil on the market today.

The studies responsible for claiming that coconut oil was bad for health were performed using hydrogenated coconut oil. Hydrogenated coconut oil is made through chemical processing, and thus, it may contain various entities that may harm your health and wellness.

While the academy lists coconut oil in the tropical oil category, what sets coconut oil apart from other saturated fats is that more than half of it is made up of medium chain fats, also known as medium chain triglycerides, or MCTs. This type of saturated fat is different from other fats, which are mostly long chain fats. MCTs are smaller molecules and therefore require less energy and fewer enzymes to break down for digestion. They are quickly metabolized. In other words, they are easily burned as energy and less likely to be stored as fat. Because MCTs in coconut oil are more quickly metabolized, they can make you feel fuller, faster. This is the reason why coconut oil can aid in weight loss.

By dealing with numerous bacteria, fungi, and parasites that may cause indigestion, coconut oil aids in the digestion process and even helps absorb fat soluble vitamins, minerals and some amino acids.

Robin's Rescue: A few years ago, you barely heard of coconut oil. These days, it's on every store shelf and a staple in many homes. Is it because of taste? Or the claims that it's the latest cure-all? Before you run out and buy some, let me break it down for you.

- Saturated fats are often solid at room temperature and are found in animal products such as meat, dairy and poultry with skin. These fats contain cholesterol and they raise blood cholesterol (cholesterol from food doesn't raise cholesterol levels, saturated fat does.) Tropical oils, such as palm, palm kernel and coconut, also are saturated fats, but they contain no cholesterol. Trans fats, often found in processed foods, are considered unhealthy because they can lower HDL cholesterol and increase LDL at the same time.

Coconut oil is 100 percent fat, 92 percent of which is saturated. But, here's the rub. Coconut oil contains a unique blend of short- and medium-chain fatty acids. Researchers believe this unusual composition may offer some health benefits. Recent studies evaluating the effects of individual fats on the risk of coronary artery disease found that the combination of fatty acids in coconut oil improved the ratio of total cholesterol, but also raised LDL cholesterol. Most health experts agree that any food that increases LDL cholesterol should be limited because LDL cholesterol increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

- Use coconut oil to saute onions, garlic, celery, carrots and bell peppers when making the base for stir-fries, soups and stews. Pair coconut oil with bitter greens such as kale, mustard greens and broccoli rabe to balance flavors.

But eight days after graduation in 2009, Geddie left for Asia. He assured his mom that he would study for business school while traveling. When he arrived in Vietnam, though, he fell in love with the country, wooed in part by the potential he saw in coconut oil.

Coconut oil has become popular among health junkies and celebrities alike. Although coconut oil contains saturated fat, which can cause high cholesterol, people who use the oil as a cooking ingredient and a beauty product say it can lead to a host of positive results, such as weight loss, mental stimulation and healthier skin.

The story goes that skinny guinea pigs come from an unplanned genetic mutation in a Canadian lab in 1978, so the floofless friends have been around for over 40 years! Unfortunately, their hairlessness makes the skinny pigs even more useful for testing, especially dermatological testing with products that go directly on the skin. The skin of a hairless guinea pig is similar to our human skin, so the poor pigs have become the guinea pig for lots of cosmetics.

Another difference between skinny guinea pigs and Baldwin guinea pigs? Skinny pigs are born with very little to no hair. The tufts on their feet, legs, and face grow as the pigs themselves get bigger. Do you find hairless guinea pigs adorable? Just imagine a tiny version of them - oh my!

Just like skinny pigs, the Baldwin guinea pig is an accidental genetic mutation. A breeder in California noticed her White Crested guinea pigs going bald - probably expecting the worst - only to realize she had a new breed of adorable hairless guinea pigs at her hand.

Like any other guinea pig, hairless guinea pigs need plenty of fiber and some vitamin C in their diet. Guinea pigs are known as walking stomachs because they constantly eat and poop, and skinny pigs do even more of both. An extra big pile of hay, on top of their regular veggies and pellets, helps these sweet pets stay warm and healthy.

When it comes to snuggle time, piggy parents should treat their skinny guinea pigs like any other pig. It takes time to bond with their cute hairless guinea pigs, and the more patient the hooman is, the more confident their pet will become.

Skinny piggies are just like hairy guinea pigs in many ways. But the right hairless guinea pig care requires some extra knowledge from the piggy parents. The four pillars of great skinny pigs care are

We know our beloved skinny guinea pigs need some extra TLC due to their fragility. Their cage is no exception to this, and it should provide the hairless house hippos with soft surroundings. A C&C cage with a fleece liner is a brilliant start, and with a few fleece accessories, it becomes the skinny pig palace of your dreams!

Another ideal accessory for your C&C cage? The serene sleep sack. This super soft sack is lined with fleece, so it acts as a little piggy den. You can pop it inside your cage and also take it out for snuggle sessions, so your skinny pigs are warm at all times.

Wood shavings are too scratchy for their soft, sensitive skin and can cause more harm than good. Not to mention the dust in some beddings, and the lack of cozy snooze spots for skinny pigs who feel the material directly on their skin. So fleece liners it is!

I love coconut oil. I cook with coconut oil in place of butter and other vegetable oils. I also use coconut oil to make my own skin care products. When recently offered the chance to review a few coconut oil products from Skinny & Co. in exchange for my honest opinion, I eagerly accepted the opportunity. I received a total of six products.

Brothers Matt and Luke Geddie founded Skinny & Co. after visiting the Southeast Asian country of Vietnam and seeing a business opportunity to deliver the world a pure, quality, healthy product: coconut oil. Delivering original raw alkaline coconut oil products that disrupt and challenge the standards of the food and cosmetic industries, Skinny & Co. desires to be a lifestyle brand that is synonymous with high-quality, wholesome products. As a small family company, Skinny & Co. is vertically integrated, bringing consumers quality and integrity in every jar from tree to table.

I received two-ounce jars of coconut oil, whipped body butter, facial oil, oil pulling oil, and sugar scrub and a 0.2-ounce tube of lip balm from Skinny & Co. My set arrived during the heat of the summer, so all the oils were in liquid form but turned back to solid once I brought the package into my air-conditioned home.

Skinny & Co. coconut oil is the only 100% raw, alkaline coconut oil in the world. The two-ounce jar currently costs $8. (The plain coconut oil is also available in sizes up to 128 ounces, which costs $200.) The small jar contains four one-tablespoon servings that contain 130 calories each. The coconut oil is vegan, gluten-free, and all-natural. As soon as I opened the jar, I noticed the clear coloring and smooth consistency of the oil. The plain oil tastes slightly nutty and slightly buttery, which I consider a typical flavor for a good coconut oil. I used some of the oil in place of butter to make macaroni and cheese for my kids. The dish tasted rich and delicious. I also mixed some of the coconut oil with soy wax and scented oil to create my own moisturizer.

Skinny & Co. whipped body butter contains Skinny coconut oil, organic almond oil, and a proprietary blend of essential oils. The two-ounce jar costs $12, and the larger nine-ounce jar costs $32. When I open the jar, I am greeted by a light almond scent that I find absolutely delicious. I love scented products but not overpowering scents. This body butter offers the right amount of fragrance. I like to use mine after I shower, especially on my legs and under my arms after I shave. The coconut body butter leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized but never overly oily.

Skinny & Co. facial oil contains Skinny coconut oil, roman chamomile extract, lavender extract, and a proprietary blend of essential oils. The two-ounce jar costs $22, and the larger four-ounce jar costs $38. I have super sensitive skin, with my cheeks becoming easily dried out and raw during the dryer weather of the late fall and winter. Lavender is one of my favorite floral scents, so I love the lavender aroma of this facial oil. The oil glides on smoothly and leaves my skin feeling super soft and moisturized. Unlike with heavy lotions, my skin also does not feel oily or greasy after I use a small amount of the facial oil. The oil also leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth. 041b061a72
